High School Transition Info
Orange Charter students have several choices for high school. There are several area charter schools offering grades 9-12. The most frequently attended charter high schools are listed below. A complete list of charter schools in NC can be found at http://www.ncpublicschools.
org/charterschools/schools/. Charter high schools typically conduct a lottery to determine enrollment between Jan. and March of the year the student will begin high school. If you are interested in a charter high school, plan to visit the school in Dec. or Jan. of your student’s 8th grade year.
If your student will attend a non-charter public high school you must pick up an enrollment packet at the school your student will attend. Directions for enrolling your child in an Orange County high school can be found at http://www.orange.k12.nc.
us/crhs/about/docs/enrollment_ packet.pdf. Registration requires a completed enrollment packet and a scheduled meeting with a guidance counselor at the high school.
